The U.S. Census Bureau continues to monitor the impacts COVID-19 on 2020 Census operations, and has extended the response deadline to October 31, 2020. All six U.S. Census Bureau offices in Houston/Harris County have reopened to resume operations. Census staff is taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All census takers are trained on social distancing protocols, using personal protective equipment and employing no-contact distribution methods by simply hanging the Census packet on doors; not ringing doorbells or knocking and interacting with residents.
